The Raffles and Morton Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board held its first meeting at The Lookout on Friday 24 July, marking an important step in the community-led programme.
The positive and constructive meeting was led by residents, with members beginning to establish how the Board will work and how local people will be involved in shaping the future of Raffles and Morton.
Discussions included plans for community engagement, opportunities for early "quick win" projects and proposals to establish youth, business and wider partnership groups. The Board also considered the governance and practical arrangements needed to support the programme over the coming years.
"I'm delighted that the Neighbourhood Board has now held its first meeting. This is an exciting time for Raffles and Morton as we begin the first phase of Pride in Place. Over the coming months, we'll work with residents, community groups and local organisations to hear from as many people as possible about what they want for the future of the area. Our plans for how the funding is used will be developed with the people who live and work here. We've already started hearing from residents, and I'm looking forward to seeing the ideas and priorities that emerge as more people get involved."

The Pride in Place programme will provide up to £20 million of investment in Raffles and Morton over ten years, with local residents playing a central role in deciding how it should be used.
